Creatures of The Last of Us Are Not Zombies

The Last of Us was a game that was published for Playstation exactly 10 years ago and collected almost all the awards in the year it was released. In the past days, they have announced that they will release the Part 1 version for PC, with good news for both PC players. The play, which was also published in the series, was recognized as one of the rare productions that remained so faithful to the original as an adapted production.

Along with all this, did you know that the creatures we know as "Zombies" in this game, which we have heard a lot of, are not zombies? Yes, you heard right, they are not actually zombies. To briefly talk about how it happened, The Last of Us is a magnificent story based on realism.

A type of fungus that exists on our world, Cordyceps mushroom. This fungus can survive in cold-blooded creatures such as ants on Earth, and its main function is not to kill that creature, but to control it and maintain its continuity. The crucial point of this game is, what would happen if this control-savvy mushroom mutated due to global warming and became able to live in the human body as well?

Based on this magnificent theory, the Naughty Dog team came up with a doomsday scenario that we can talk about for years and is still valid. Although it does not bring a super innovation in terms of gameplay, The Last of Us manages to lock us up on the computer and screen with its presentation and subject. The series, which aired in the first season, received approval for its second season. (You can find it here.)
