We often want to know the FPS (frames per second) of the games we play, especially for online games. In League of Legends, it's possible to view both FPS and Ping, which represents the time it takes for data to travel between your computer and the game server. In this detailed guide, we will show you how to display Ping and FPS, answer your questions about these values, and help you overcome related issues.

Displaying Ping and FPS in League of Legends
When you enter a match in League of Legends, it's easy to display these values. Simply press the following two keys simultaneously, and you'll see both FPS and Ping in the upper right corner of the game screen:
" CTRL + F "
Hold the 'CTRL' key and press 'F' to toggle FPS and Ping values on and off.
LoL Ping Issues
One of the biggest issues League of Legends players face is Ping problems. High Ping values can disrupt the game's fluidity and reduce enjoyment. For example, champions may not move or perform desired actions, and at times, they may not be able to use their abilities. In such cases, the League of Legends server may disconnect the player from the game.
The main causes of Ping issues are insufficient bandwidth, packet loss, and network congestion. Closing all programs on your computer that use network resources (e.g., torrent, Azure, browsers) can help reduce network congestion. Players experiencing packet loss or constant disconnections should properly configure their network settings and contact their ISP's customer support for assistance.
However, the most significant issue is often a lack of bandwidth. Games are constantly evolving, and their requirements increase over time, including the demand for bandwidth. While 4-8 Mbps used to suffice, modern games often require 8-16 Mbps. If your issue persists, consider upgrading your internet plan.
Displaying Ping in Chat
Sometimes, players experiencing Ping and speed issues want to inform their teammates in chat, but others may not believe them. In these cases, players can display their Ping or FPS values in the chat using a simple key combination:
"Alt + Left Mouse Button"
After opening the Ping and FPS section using the previously mentioned key combination, hold the "Alt" key on your keyboard. Then, hover your mouse over the Ping or FPS value in the upper right corner and click the left mouse button. This will display your Ping or FPS value in the chat window for other players to see.
Additionally, you can display other information, such as:
- Gold
- Items
- Respawn Time
- Ability Cooldowns
LoL Ping Not Displaying in the Upper Right Corner
As long as there are no file errors in League of Legends, the Ping and FPS values should appear using the mentioned key combination. However, if the values still don't show, try reinstalling the game or using Riot Games' Hextech Repair Tool to fix your game files. You can download this tool from the League of Legends homepage.
