A recent Christmas Day leak exposed Rockstar Games' shelved ambitions for eight GTA 5 single-player expansions, detailed within the game's source code. Titles like "Agent Trevor" and "Relationship Pack" hinted at intriguing gameplay possibilities, including Trevor as a covert agent and potential dating mechanics in Los Santos.

The decision to scrap these expansions was primarily attributed to the overwhelming success of GTA Online, which has consistently generated massive revenue. Imran Sarwar, Director of Design, explained in 2017 that the demands of GTA Online, coupled with developing next-gen versions of GTA 5 and the impending release of Red Dead Redemption 2, led to the abandonment of single-player DLC.

Despite the absence of single-player expansions for Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar Games appears to be shifting its focus to GTA 6, set to launch in 2025.
