Blizzard Under Attack

World of Warcraft, Dota, and Diablo game series pioneer and producer Blizzard Entertainment was attacked. In recent days, players who noticed something unusual on Blizzard's online servers encountered connection errors, high ping situations, and lags in the games. After reporting the situation on Twitter and through support units, the players understood the situation with the announcement that came shortly after.

Blizzard, which was subjected to a DDoS attack, announced that they were working on the situation and intervened. Advising players to log in again an hour after the intervention, Blizzard management explained that the situation stemmed from a DDoS attack. For those who don't know, a DDoS attack stands for "Distributed Denial of Service." This type of attack sends a large amount of network traffic from numerous sources (usually infected computer networks called botnets) to a server, network, or service to disrupt or prevent its normal operation. This traffic consumes the target system's resources, causing their services to become temporarily unavailable.

Blizzard Entertainment is an American game company known for its high-quality video games and esports, founded in 1991 by Michael Morhaime, Frank Pearce, and Allen Adham, and has revolutionized the gaming industry and world. It is essential that the company, which currently operates under the Activision Blizzard umbrella, learns a good lesson after this attack.
